The government of Nepal is actively working of the revival of tourism in Nepal. During an event organized to celebrate 41st World Tourism Day, 2020, Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the promotion of domestic tourism is one of the strategies that need to be adopted for the survival of the industry at least within a year.
The 41st World Tourism Day 2020 was observed with the slogan ‘Tourism and Rural Development’. Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) jointly organized a tree plantation program at Manjushree Park in Chobar to mark the day. While inaugurating the program, Minister Bhattarai emphasized on the need to promote domestic tourism and requested the stakeholders to work on this purpose.
During his speech was committed to work in collaboration and coordination with the federal government and local stakeholders for the development of Chobar and to integrate it along with the development of other tourism sites in the valley. The program was also attended by MoCTCA Secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, high-ranking officials of the ministry and representatives of NTB, and others dignitaries.
In the program, the minister requested entire Nepali citizens to cooperate government in the promotion of tourism as every individual can contribute to it. The ministry and NTB both are lunching various events, campaign and program in local, provincial and federal level in order to get soonest recovery of tourism in Nepal.
