The government of Nepal had allowed re-starting tourism industry and hotels form 30 July. On the basis of the government decision, tourism services companies and hotels are resuming from Thursday that was closed since the start of nationwide lockdown on March 24.
In the beginning, the hotels will not operate in full capacity. Entrepreneurs said that they have planned to resume gradually as per the demand of customers. Star hotels have already said they will be closed until December stating that there will no tourist arrivals. But in this regards, entrepreneurs say even the star hotels can be reopened in limited capacity should demand rise.
At the same time, a meeting of the Regional Hotel Association (HAN) held in Sauraha on Tuesday decided to open hotels and restaurants from today with some precautionary measures as mentioned in health protocols issued by the government of Nepal. Every year, around 200,000 tourists (including both domestic and foreign) come to visit Sauraha to watch one-horned Rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger, amphibians and various species of birds. This is one of the adventurous touristic destinations.
