The Coronavirus pandemic affected every sector in the world where the tourism sector is world-widely estimated sector getting one of the worst condition due to pandemic. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Yogesh Bhattarai has said the Covid-19 has incurred a loss of Rs 60 billion in the Nepali tourism sector.
While speaking at a virtual interaction on the resumption of the tourism sector organized by Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) on Sunday, he had said it has been a challenging task to the recovery of the loss incurred by travel bans and other steps taken by the Nepal government to stem the Covid-19.
In the meeting minister Bhattarai has said his ministry is constantly taking updates from the Ministry of Finance and Nepal Rastra Bank regarding the economic package for the restoration of the tourism sector.
