Nepal Set Six Stages to Unveil Market and Normal Life:

Nepal is in lockdown since March 24 th of this year to control and prevent outbreak
of Covid-19 in the nation. As it’s been all most two and half moths of being inside
the house many people are getting problems not only by Coronavirus but the
problems of livelihood, hunger and scarcity. Till the date, near a dozens of people
have died by this virus that are mostly returned from India to homeland. During
this time there is over discussion on changing modality of lockdown so that
economy can get pace so the government is planning to lift the nationwide
lockdown and resume the economy gradually with six stages like in other

Government of Nepal is dividing the areas based on the risk factors and adopting
appropriate health protocols. Till the date the country has reported more than 3000
confirmed cases and 12 deaths, with over 200 cases reported every day. And the
cases are expected to rise in the coming days as the government is expanding the
testing and more people from India are entering the nation in huge number. The
COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) led by Deputy Prime Minister
Ishwar Pokharel, who also heads the High-level Coordination Committee, has
proposed a six-phase modality in this regard which will be implemented from June
15 after the Council of Ministers approval.

According to the proposal, an essential services and agriculture sector will reopen
in the first stage as well as department stores, food stores and daily good
distribution centers will be opened. And in second phase, health institutions, online
and print media will get turn. Similarly, Private vehicles will be allowed to ply on  the roads based on odd-even plate number in the third phase. Likewise in fourth
stage, except educational institutes and large business the government will allow
almost all sectors to open in condition of following health protocols such as
physical distancing, Partial operation of international flights will also be allowed.
Fifth turn is of all kind of educational institutes, construction services,
entertainment centers, construction, gym, hotels, restaurants and bars, malls,
banking and finance, sports, religions places and public and private offices which
can have over crowed. At last for the sixth phase, the government will completely
remove the lockdown and bring back the normalcy before Dashain festival.

Furthermore, the government has already begun the repatriation of Nepali citizens
stranded in various countries. Yesterday only, two different Flights Brought 26
Nepalese from Myanmar and 168 from UAE:
