The Ministry of Home Affairs has stopped issuing inter-district passes to vehicles considering the recent spike in coronavirus cases in Kathmandu valley and all over the country.
A written notice was issued and also sent to all 77 districts by the Home Ministry for not to issue passes that were in practice for inter-district passes in the special request. This new circulation is effective from Thursday.
During the post lockdown period, people have made a tremendous movement that created serious problems. This decision has been made to minimize the movement of the people and to control Coronavirus infection.
At the same time, the Kathmandu District Administration Office has also stopped issuing vehicle passes to move in and out of the Kathmandu Valley from today. However, vehicles providing emergency services such as ambulances, media, and vehicles carrying foodstuffs can travel freely, according to the Ministry.
