The most important temple for Hindus; Pasupatinath remained closed for more than eight months. The temple was conducting only formal Pujas with core Pujaris due to Covid-19. Now, it has been decided to open from December 16.
The temple lies in Kathmandu which is also listed as world heritage. The Hindu holy shrine will open for pilgrims with heath protocols that include social distancing and other necessary safety measures. These days, tourism activities are gradually getting resumption. As Covid-19 infection and its threat are still continue, government and local level are trying to promote domestic tourism in Nepal.
Pradip Dhakal, member-secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), a standard operating procedure has been developed for devotees visiting the temple. Recently the government of Nepal had decided to resume all types of touristic activities. On the basis of the current decision, mountain flights were resumed operation from last Saturday.
