After 81 days long Lockdown Private Vehicles are running on the road as the
government of Nepal has allowed private vehicles to re-operate on odd-even rule
from today. Traffic police said that private vehicles are operating on odd-even
system in all the districts including the Kathmandu Valley from today but vehicles
are restricted going from one district to the other.
This rule will not apply in case of Kathmandu Valley as it belongs to Lalitpur,
Bhaktapur and Kathmandu districts. On Wednesday, the Cabinet meeting had
issued some new orders for easing the lockdown that was started from March 24 of
Government on Nepal’s spokesperson Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada said that the
Cabinet has decided to allow private vehicles to operate in the concerned districts
including the Valley on odd and even basis. He further informed, only one person
on a motorcycle and three people including a driver can sit in a private vehicle.
