The Sauraha is one of the best touristic destinations in Chitwan Nepal. Many domestic cum international tourists visit Sauraha for adventurous tourism activities. During this time pandemic badly impacted the tourism industry in Sauraha. By knowing this situation, the tourism entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in Chitwan have decided to launch the ‘Visit Sauraha’ campaign.
This campaign is aiming to revive the tourism industry that has been paralyzed due to the Covid-19 pandemic for a long period of time. For this announcement, organization, arrangement various authorities and offices are jointly working. To make the campaign successful; District Coordination Committee, Ratnanagar Municipality, Regional Hotel Association Sauracha chapter are joining hands together. The campaign is trying to give a message that ‘Sauraha is safe’ to visit. The tourism entrepreneurs are all set to work in coordination for this campaign. According to the plan, they will reach all seven provinces and give a message to the domestic tourist that ‘Sauraha is safe’.
Dipak Bhattarai, Chairman of Regional Hotel Association Sauraha chapter said that although they had planned to launch this campaign before Dashain festival, it was delayed because of Covid-19 and its high risk. In the area, they began reopening the hotels and restaurants since Tourism Day. Bhattarai expressed his belief that people from various parts of the country would be inviting to Sauraha.
Bhattarai further makes sure that we’re prepared to ensure safety to tourists by adhering to the health protocols. But at present, the arrival of tourists is only five to seven per cent compare to past record. The severe decline in tourism activities due to pandemic has resulted in remarkably joblessness and closure of business in the area. To attract the tourists, the hoteliers have announced the discount of 25 to 30 per cent as Covid-19 package. The campaign will certainly help to tourism industry especially domestic tourism.
