The Simkot airport of Humla district in Nepal now has witnessed an increasing outflow of passengers to their destinations. It is because of the threat of Covid-19 in the area and relaxation of lookdown in their destination which contributed domestic tourism.
These days, the flow of passengers to the airport has increased as the students returning from their houses towards Kathmandu, Surkhet, Nepalgunj and Pokhara to continue their education, job and career. This time, mainly the students are returning to their destinations outside the home district immediately following the celebration of Dashain festival. During this time, the education and examination are taking place via an online medium where internet is not working well in Humla that compelled the students to go outside the district.
Furthermore, the ongoing up-gradation of the airport has troubled private aeroplanes to operate their flights in a full-fledge and smooth manner. Passengers are also facing problem in accessing air ticket due to limited flights. During this time, there seems to queue up of passengers leaving for their destinations at the gate of the Simkot airport.
