The COVID-19 has an impact in every sector that did not leave even our cultural cum traditional norms. Due to its worst impact the Covid-19 crisis management centre in Baitadi has decided to prohibit public gathering in the upcoming major festivals of Sudur Paschim folks Teej cum Gaura.
Gaura and Teej festivals are mainly celebrated by the Hindu women. But restriction circulation is compelled to make to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission at the community level. In this regards, the Chief District Officer of Baitadi, Mohanraj Joshi has said that the locals were requested not to form crowd as per the decision of the government to prevent and control the cases of a deadly infection that are rising alarmingly in the nation. Due to this, the people are advised to perform religious festivals at home and stay indoors to help prevent the spread of the flu-like infection.
The Gaura festival falls on August 26 and Teej on August 21 this year. The local administration has decided to ban all sort of events that are related to mass gatherings like a seminar, assembly, workshop and physically present training in the district.
