The Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) Yogesh Bhattarai has suggested to the tourism entrepreneurs to develop domestic tourism promotion package to enhance the tourism industry. During this time there is only one solution for development and sustain the industry is to promote domestic tourism as the inflow of foreign tourists is decreasing these days.
The global COVID-19 pandemic compelled to remain silent for the international tourism industry. The impact of Coronavirus is still out of control in Nepal. Though international visitors are gradually increasing it will take a long time to get full recovery. In this regard, there must have a domestic tourism promotional package to sustain the tourism industry in Nepal; the minister highlighted. The minister, while addressing an interaction with tourism entrepreneurs organized by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has urged to sell tourist package to domestic tourists. In current decades, the travelling culture is increasing in Nepal.
Yadav Koirala, the Secretary of the Ministry said to the tourism entrepreneurs to come up with an action plan to reopen the tourism sector in new ways. In the meeting, there was the active participation of different representatives from Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) along with concern authorities and concern parties.
